Bio
Recruited from South Bendigo, Ron Robertson was a lightly-framed utility who arrived at Princes Park as a teenager ahead of the 1952 season. Standing just 175cm, he typically operated as a rover or flanker, earning his senior debut in the opening round of 1952 against North Melbourne. Despite this early breakthrough, Robertson found it difficult to command a permanent position in the senior side, playing sporadic blocks of games rather than full seasons during the Blues' mid-50s campaigns. He served as a useful depth player for five years, largely playing a supporting role to the club's established stars, before ultimately departing the VFL scene at the conclusion of the 1956 season.
