Bio
Recruited from local club East Geelong, Ron Warren was a dedicated servant of the Cats during the club's post-war rebuilding phase under legendary coach Reg Hickey. A lightweight utility standing 178cm, Warren spent the majority of his five-year tenure at Kardinia Park as a stalwart of the reserves, where he accumulated 68 games between 1947 and 1951. He broke through for his five senior appearances during the 1949 VFL season but found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in a rapidly strengthening lineup that was on the verge of the club's golden premiership era. Despite his brief senior career, Warren remained a lifelong supporter of the club, famously attending the 2022 Grand Final at age 93 before his passing in late 2024.
