Bio
A product of East Ringwood, Ross Wright was a promising junior defender who initially made his mark by winning Essendon’s Under-19s Best and Fairest award in 1971. Despite this early success, he found it difficult to command a regular position in the senior side at Windy Hill, managing just 11 games across two seasons as he drifted in and out of the backline. Following his stint in the VFL, Wright carved out a distinguished career at the state league level, first moving to Tasmania where he became a star for Hobart and earned state representative honours. He eventually returned to Victoria to play for Camberwell in the VFA, where he cemented his legacy as a dual premiership player and VFA representative.
