Bio
A local Carlton product, Roy Milne broke into the Fitzroy senior side as a teenager, making his VFL debut at just 17 years of age in 1927. He managed 21 games over two seasons for the Maroons but struggled to cement a permanent position in the lineup, eventually departing the VFL system before his 20th birthday. Milne crossed to the VFA to join Northcote in 1929, a move that yielded immediate success as he became a key member of the club's historic premiership team in his first season. He developed into a consistent goal-kicking option for the "Brickfielders," booting 40 goals across four seasons during a golden era for the club, and later served his country in the Australian Army during World War II.
