Stats
Bio
A talented half-forward recruited from the VFA, Roy Williams briefly stepped up to the VFL to play a lone season with Footscray in 1930. Originally making his name with Camberwell after starting at Gardiner, he proved effective in front of goal at the elite level, averaging better than a goal a game during his nine senior appearances for the Bulldogs. However, his stay at the Western Oval was short-lived, and he returned to Camberwell the following year to forge a legendary career in the Association. Williams ultimately played 133 games for Camberwell, captaining the side and winning a club best and fairest, later earning a spot in their Team of the Century. He was the brother of Hawthorn footballer Lyall Williams.
