Bio
Selected by North Melbourne with pick 31 in the 2015 National Draft, Ryan Clarke arrived as a high-production junior from the Eastern Ranges known for his ability to accumulate possessions. After three seasons at Arden Street where he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the Kangaroos' midfield rotation, he was traded to Sydney ahead of the 2019 season in search of a more defined role. While he initially drifted between half-back and the wing, Clarke revitalised his career late in his tenure by reinventing himself as a disciplined defensive forward. This transformation into a hard-running tagger saw him execute effective lockdown jobs on opposition distributors during the Swans' run to the 2022 Grand Final, but he ultimately fell out of favour the following year and was delisted at the end of 2023, finishing his AFL career just three games shy of the 100-game milestone.
