Bio
Recruited from the NT Thunder via the 2016 Rookie Draft, Ryan Nyhuis was a disciplined defender best remembered for a unique performance on debut. Although primarily developed as a backman, he was a late inclusion for David Mundy in Round 16, 2017 against North Melbourne and was deployed as a defensive forward, booting four goals to help secure a narrow victory. He was unable to replicate that offensive impact in subsequent years, settling into a role as a lockdown small defender who often oscillated between the AFL and the WAFL. After four seasons on the list and struggling to cement a permanent spot in the Dockers' lineup, he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2019 season.
