Bio
Recruited with pick 48 in the 1999 National Draft, Ryan Pagan faced the unique pressure of attempting to carve out an AFL career under the direct tutelage of his father, dual premiership coach Denis Pagan. After serving an apprenticeship in the reserves, the small forward broke into the North Melbourne senior side midway through the 2000 season, making his debut in Round 12 against Richmond. However, his opportunities were fleeting, managing just three consecutive appearances without registering a goal before losing his place in the lineup. Ultimately unable to bridge the gap between state league form and the elite level, Pagan was delisted at the end of his solitary season at Arden Street.
