Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with pick 53 in the 2017 National Draft, Ryley Stoddart arrived at Sydney as a rebounding defender known for his dash and penetrating left-foot kick. He made his debut in Round 10, 2018 against the Brisbane Lions, capping the game with a goal, but struggled to cement a regular spot in the Swans' backline over subsequent seasons. Limited to just six senior appearances across three years, Stoddart was unable to break past the club's established defensive stocks and was delisted at the end of 2020, eventually continuing his career as a standout player in the VFL.
