Bio
Sam Durdin arrived at North Melbourne as a first-round selection in the 2014 National Draft, touted as a key defender capable of controlling the air with strong intercept marking. Despite his high draft pedigree, he struggled to command a regular position in the Kangaroos' backline, managing sporadic appearances over six years before being delisted at the end of 2020. After proving his durability and form with Glenelg in the SANFL, Durdin was thrown an AFL lifeline by Carlton in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft to plug gaps in an injury-hit defence. However, his return to the top level was frustrated by his own injury setbacks, limiting him to just two games for the Blues before his departure at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
