Recruited from East Perth with pick 18 in the 2016 National Draft, Sam Powell-Pepper arrived at Port Adelaide ready for senior football, immediately showcasing an aggressive, physical style rarely seen in first-year players. A West Australian product, he quickly became a cult figure among Power fans for his ferocity at the contest, heavy tackling, and a signature "don't argue" fend-off that allowed him to break lines. While he entered the system as a pure inside midfielder, his utility grew as he transitioned into a high-pressure forward role, where his ability to crash packs and lock the ball inside 50 became crucial to the team's structure.
His career trajectory has been marked by significant personal and professional growth, seeing him elevated to the club's leadership group after maturing into a reliable standard-bearer for the side.
