Bio
Recruited from Hawthorn in the Victorian Junior Football Association, Sam Reid holds a permanent place in history as a member of Carlton’s inaugural VFL squad. He broke into the senior side during the league's foundation season of 1897, though his time at the top level proved fleeting. Reid managed just three senior appearances for the Navy Blues without registering a score before drifting out of the rotation. While his career statistics are modest, his presence in that first year ensures he remains remembered as one of the original players to represent the club in the VFL competition.
