Bio
Recruited from Bacchus Marsh, Alexander "Sandy" Talbot was a fair-haired full-back who arrived at Windy Hill with significant promise, highlighted by his winning the reserves' Most Improved Player award in 1970. Standing 189cm, he was a key defensive pillar capable of locking down opposition forwards and eventually donned the number 27 guernsey during his senior run. His career momentum was stalled by a broken leg sustained in 1971, a setback that forced him out of the side and made breaking back into the senior lineup difficult upon his return. Unable to secure a regular spot in the aftermath, he left the VFL at the end of 1973 to join Preston in the VFA before later serving as a captain-coach for Daylesford.
