Bio
Recruited from North Adelaide with pick 4 in the 1995 National Draft, Scott Bamford entered the AFL during a turbulent period as a member of Fitzroy's final playing list in 1996. Following the club's collapse, the diminutive rover was one of the select few Roys players to join the newly formed Brisbane Lions, where he spent two seasons attempting to consolidate a spot in a developing midfield. A zippy on-baller and small forward known for his energy and goal sense, Bamford was traded to Geelong ahead of the 1999 season alongside Tristan Lynch in exchange for Martin McKinnon. Despite his high draft pedigree and bursts of form, he struggled to find consistency across his three clubs in four years, eventually returning to the SANFL after being delisted by the Cats at the end of the 1999 season.
