Stats
Bio
Recruited from North Adelaide in the SANFL, Shane Hodges joined the Brisbane Bears as a promising second-round selection taken with pick 21 in the 1993 National Draft. The lightly framed midfielder spent the 1994 season developing his game in the reserves before earning his senior debut midway through 1995 in a home victory over Fitzroy. Hodges operated primarily as a linking player through the midfield and flanks, often looking to distribute by hand rather than foot, but found it difficult to impose himself physically at the elite level. With the Bears rapidly transforming into a finals contender under Robert Walls, competition for spots intensified, and Hodges was unable to cement a permanent place in the lineup. He managed just four senior appearances during his time in Queensland before departing the AFL scene.
