Bio
A highly rated junior from the Murray Bushrangers, Shane Sikora arrived at West Coast with the significant expectations attached to a first-round selection, taken with pick 12 in the 1994 National Draft—a selection the Eagles had acquired from Collingwood in exchange for Lee Walker. A hard-running midfielder and wingman, Sikora struggled to break into Mick Malthouse's disciplined and established engine room, spending the majority of his four-year tenure developing with Perth in the WAFL. He finally broke through for a debut late in the 1996 season, playing back-to-back matches, but endured a frustrating two-year hiatus before managing his third and final senior appearance in 1998. Unable to cement a regular spot in the Eagles' lineup, he was delisted at the end of that season and returned to Victoria to play for Box Hill in the VFL.
