Bio
A product of the Western Districts club in the QAFL, Simon Hose was a promising Queensland junior who first caught the eye of recruiters during the 1986 Teal Cup. His initial pathway to the top level took him south to the Sydney Swans, where he spent two seasons on the list but was unable to break into the senior side. Handed a lifeline by the Brisbane Bears in the 1989 Pre-season Draft, Hose returned to his home state and made his long-awaited debut in Round 2 against his former club. A ball-winning midfielder who could drift forward, he showed flashes of genuine potential during his brief stint at Carrara, most notably in a breakout performance against Footscray where he gathered 22 disposals and booted two goals. Despite that impressive outing, he played just five senior games for the Bears before his time at the elite level came to a close.
