Bio
Recruited from Montmorency in the Diamond Valley Football League, Simon Taylor was a wingman who progressed through Collingwood's under-19s to earn a senior call-up late in the 1989 season. He produced a surprisingly prolific debut in Round 21 against Richmond, gathering 19 disposals in a win at Victoria Park, and followed up by booting his sole career goal against West Coast the next week. Despite maintaining a perfect winning record from his two senior matches, Taylor could not hold his place in the side and was eventually delisted after further service in the reserves. He received a second chance when Fitzroy selected him in the 1992 Pre-Season Draft, but he did not add to his AFL tally, eventually moving to the VFA where he captained Preston.
