Bio
Recruited from Fairfield, Stan Harris was a diminutive rover and forward pocket whose VFL career was brief but punctuated by a moment of glory in the lower grades. The younger brother of Collingwood and Hawthorn utility John "Jiggy" Harris, Stan initially struggled to cement a spot in a strong Richmond senior lineup, though he proved his worth in the reserves by booting three goals in the Tigers' 1929 seconds premiership victory. He crossed to Footscray early in the 1930 season in search of regular senior football, adding eight games to his tally in the tricolours. Standing just 170cm, Harris was a nippy small man who could find the goals, but he was ultimately unable to sustain a long-term career at the elite level.
