Bio
Recruited from the eastern suburbs clubs of Ringwood and Canterbury, Stan Ogden was a tall timber prospect who had to wait for his opportunities at the highest level. He initially broke into the VFL with Richmond as a teenager late in the 1930 season, managing a solitary appearance for the Tigers before drifting out of the senior side. After a four-year hiatus from league football, the 185cm ruckman was thrown a lifeline by Hawthorn in 1934, where he added another five games to his tally during the middle of the season. While his VFL career was brief, Ogden later served his country as a Gunner with the 2/11th Field Regiment during World War II.
