Bio
Recruited from Carnegie in the Sub-Districts League following a dominant 50-goal season, Stan Petrie joined Hawthorn for a brief stint during the club's "Mayblooms" era. A tall forward for the time at 183cm, he proved consistent in front of the big sticks, kicking exactly one goal in each of his three VFL appearances in 1928. Unable to secure a permanent spot in the senior lineup, Petrie forged a respectable career in the VFA with Camberwell and Prahran, interrupted by a season in the country with Traralgon. He eventually transitioned into leadership, finishing his football journey as captain-coach of Darling in the Federal League.
