Stats
Bio
Recruited from South Warrnambool in the 1990 Mid-Year Draft, Stephen Anderson was a busy rover who joined Collingwood just as the club was securing its historic 1990 premiership. While his diminutive 170cm frame and the incredible depth of the Magpies' midfield made senior selection difficult, Anderson proved he could find the football at the elite level during his brief opportunities. He made a stunning debut in Round 3, 1991 against Fitzroy, gathering 24 disposals and kicking a goal at Victoria Park, but was eventually squeezed out of the senior lineup to finish with just four career games. His quality was undeniable in the lower grades, however, where he capped off his season by winning the 1991 Gardiner Medal as the best and fairest player in the AFL reserves before later continuing his career in the SANFL with Central District.
