Bio
Recruited from Reservoir, Stephen Clifford debuted for Collingwood as a 16-year-old but found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the senior side during the mid-1970s. A rover with natural ball-winning ability, he played sporadically over six seasons at Victoria Park without ever fully realising his potential at VFL level. Following his departure from Collingwood, Clifford moved to South Australia where his career truly flourished with North Adelaide. He became a dominant force in the SANFL, winning the 1983 Magarey Medal and playing in a premiership, proving that his modest VFL statistics belied a genuine elite talent.
