Bio
Recruited from Norwood as a zone selection for Port Adelaide's inaugural AFL list, Stephen Daniels was a tall, dour defender who provided structural stability to the Power’s backline in their formative years. Standing at 193cm, he was often tasked with locking down key opposition forwards, playing a disciplined role that allowed more attacking teammates to rebound from defence. His most consistent campaign came in 1999, where he featured in 20 matches—including the club's Qualifying Final against North Melbourne—and established himself as a reliable pillar in the defensive 50. Despite remaining a regular contributor in the 2000 season, Daniels was delisted at the end of the year as the club looked to regenerate its list, prompting a return to the SANFL where he cemented his status as a Norwood stalwart and eventual life member.
