Bio
Recruited from North Launceston following a premiership campaign in the NTFA, Stephen Goulding was a skilled Tasmanian midfielder who made a fleeting appearance at the top level with North Melbourne in 1981. An on-baller with an eye for goal, he played just two senior VFL matches, the second of which saw him boot two goals against Richmond on the day of Francis Bourke’s 300th game. Following his brief stint at Arden Street, Goulding moved to the WAFL to join Claremont, where he established himself as a premier state-league footballer, playing over 100 games and earning representative honours for both Western Australia and his native Tasmania. A member of the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame, he is also recognised as the father of Australian basketball star Chris Goulding.
