Bio
Recruited from the Port Melbourne Colts, Stephen McBroom was a diminutive rover who entered the VFL system during the Swans' tumultuous relocation era. Standing at just 169cm, he was a classic small man who relied on agility and crumbing instincts, breaking into the Sydney senior side for his debut in late 1983. After managing four games across two seasons while the club established its footing in the harbour city, McBroom crossed to Punt Road to join Richmond for the 1985 season. He added two senior appearances in the yellow and black during a difficult period for the Tigers, ultimately serving as a depth player who provided cover in the midfield rotation before finishing his VFL career.
