Bio
Recruited from Tasmanian powerhouse Sandy Bay, Stephen Mount arrived at Richmond as a promising forward but established himself as a reliable key defender. Renowned for his strong overhead marking, effective dual-sided kicking, and aptitude for wet-weather football, he peaked early during the Tigers' dominant era. His legacy is anchored to the 1980 premiership campaign where, despite playing only nine senior games that season, he delivered a standout performance in the Grand Final thrashing of Collingwood. Unable to maintain that rich vein of form, Mount departed the VFL at just 22 years of age to pursue a successful stint in the WAFL with South Fremantle and Perth, later finishing his playing days in the Victorian amateur leagues.
