Bio
Recruited from Nunawading, Stephen Parsons was a skilful wingman and ruck-rover who broke into the powerful Richmond senior side as a 17-year-old after playing in the club's 1973 Under-19 premiership. However, his brief VFL career is almost exclusively remembered for his involvement in the infamous 'Windy Hill Brawl' against Essendon in 1974. In just his third senior game, the teenager was involved in the chaotic half-time melee, receiving a four-match suspension and facing police charges for striking an Essendon official. He struggled to regain his footing in the Tigers' lineup during their premiership campaign and eventually departed the top level, later carving out a successful career as a player and coach with Woodville in the SANFL, Smithton in Tasmania, and Brunswick in the VFA.
