Bio
Part of the famous Williams football dynasty, Stephen Williams joined the inaugural Brisbane Bears squad in 1987 as the son of Port Adelaide legend Fos and brother of teammate Mark. Recruited from the SANFL, he managed just four senior games during the Bears' erratic debut season, struggling to cement a regular spot in a side built on a patchwork of interstate recruits. A tough, uncompromising midfielder known for his fierce attack on the contest and piercing low kick, Williams returned to South Australia after a single VFL season. While his national league career was a brief cameo, he went on to establish a monumental legacy at Alberton, winning nine premierships as both a player and coach to cement his standing as a Port Adelaide great.
