Bio
Recruited from Newbridge in country Victoria, Steve Bravo was a colossus of his era, standing at an imposing 193cm and weighing nearly 95kg. Arriving at Glenferrie Oval in 1933, he provided a much-needed physical presence to a struggling Hawthorn outfit—then known as the Mayblooms—that often found itself outmuscled by the league's heavyweights. Predominantly utilised as a ruckman to capitalise on his significant height advantage, Bravo battled for consistency and selection over four seasons, often rotating in and out of the senior side. He served as a reliable depth big man during a lean period for the club before finishing his VFL career at the end of the 1936 season.
