Stats
Bio
Recruited from the local Fitzroy Juniors, Steve Foley broke into the Maroons' senior lineup as a mature-age defender in the late 1920s. Standing 180cm, he offered a solid physical presence in the back half, employed primarily as a close-checking backman who prioritised stopping opponents over attacking flair. His time at Brunswick Street was fleeting, comprising two seasons of service where he provided defensive cover without ever impacting the scoreboard. Foley played his final game in 1928, leaving the VFL as a reliable contributor who had briefly secured a spot in Fitzroy’s defensive rotation.
