Bio
Recruited from Golden Point in the Ballarat Football League, Steven Allan was a mature-age addition to the St Kilda list who broke into the senior lineup during the 1982 season. Balancing his football commitments with a demanding career in the Country Fire Authority (CFA), the 180cm half-forward faced a memorable debut at Princes Park against Carlton, where the boyhood Blues supporter found himself lining up directly on his idol, legendary defender Bruce Doull. Allan managed nine games and booted two goals for the Saints, featuring in a side that struggled near the bottom of the ladder under Alex Jesaulenko. The logistical strain of travel and shift work saw him depart the VFL after just one season, eventually returning to country football where he enjoyed stints with St Albans and Wangaratta.
