Bio
Recruited from West Perth with pick 19 in the 1995 National Draft, Steven Koops was an exceptionally athletic utility capable of playing at either end of the ground. Renowned for his impressive vertical leap and ability to take spectacular contested marks, Koops often thrilled supporters with flashes of brilliance, though he struggled to maintain consistency throughout his eight seasons at Fremantle. Seeking a fresh start to revitalise his career, he was traded to the Western Bulldogs at the end of 2003 in exchange for the draft pick that Fremantle ultimately used to select David Mundy. However, Koops' time at Whitten Oval was marred by persistent injuries that severely limited his output, eventually leading to his retirement at the end of the 2005 season.
