Bio
Recruited from Norwood in the SANFL, Steven Pitt was a high-marking tall forward whose AFL career was defined by persistence across three different clubs. He initially showed promise at Collingwood, managing nine games in the 1996 season as an attacking target, but found himself on the move to the Western Bulldogs in 1997 where he was unable to break into the senior lineup. After returning to South Australia and dominating at state level, Pitt was thrown a mature-age lifeline by Melbourne via the 2000 Pre-Season Draft. He played a further eight games for the Demons over two seasons, utilised primarily as a depth forward who could contest high balls and provide structure, but he struggled to command a permanent spot in a strong Melbourne lineup and ultimately returned to the SANFL where he solidified his reputation as a Norwood great.
