Stats
Bio
Recruited from Richmond Juniors as a defender, Stewart "Nip" Geddes evolved into one of the era's premier followers, renowned for his brilliant high marking and precision stab-kicking. His crowning moment came during Melbourne's maiden premiership in 1900, where he started in the ruck and booted a crucial goal in the upset win over Fitzroy. However, his time at the Demons ended in acrimony; seeking a move to St Kilda, he was forced to stand out of VFL football for nearly two years after the league refused his clearance. Following a brief stint with Richmond in the VFA to maintain fitness, he finally joined the Saints in 1905 for a solitary season before heading to South Australia, where he eventually captained and coached West Torrens.
