Bio
Recruited from Cobden alongside his twin brother and future Brownlow Medallist Alistair, Stewart Lord was a versatile and reliable contributor during a golden era for the Geelong Football Club. While often playing a supporting role to his more decorated sibling, Stewart established himself as a capable ruck-rover and half-back flanker renowned for his strong overhead marking and physical resilience. His crowning achievement came as a member of the Cats' 1963 premiership side, where his utility value proved vital to the team's structural balance. Lord's VFL career was surprisingly brief, as he opted to retire at the end of 1964 aged just 24 to return to the family farm in the Western District, cementing his status as a talented but short-tenured figure in Geelong history.
