Bio
A product of the Northern Knights, Stuart Mangin entered the AFL system with high expectations after being selected by Sydney with pick 20 in the 1994 National Draft. Despite his robust 190cm frame and status as a first-round selection, the key position prospect spent three frustrating seasons unable to crack the Swans' senior lineup during their rise to power in the mid-1990s. In search of opportunity, he was traded to Collingwood at the end of 1997 in a package deal involving Clinton King that sent Robbie Ahmat north to the Harbour City. A strong left-footed defender, Mangin finally made his senior debut in Round 13, 1998, but his career was fleeting; he played just three matches in black and white, curiously booting two goals in his final appearance against Richmond before being delisted.
