Bio
Born in Bangkok and moving to Australia as an infant, Sudjai Cook holds a unique place in history as the first Thai-born player to appear in the VFL/AFL. Recruited from the Norwood Football Club, the lively small forward and rover was elevated from the rookie list during Adelaide's successful 1998 campaign. He managed to break into Malcolm Blight's senior side mid-season, making seven appearances and kicking two goals while the club marched toward its second consecutive premiership. Despite demonstrating capability at the top level, Cook was unable to displace the Crows' established stars for the finals series and was delisted at the end of the season, eventually returning to the SANFL where he became a reliable contributor for both the Redlegs and Glenelg.
