Stats
Bio
Recruited from Preston, Syd Hall arrived at Essendon during a golden era for the club, joining a squad fresh off the 1901 premiership. He made an immediate impact by breaking into the senior side for the start of the 1902 season, holding his spot for eight of the first nine rounds. Despite this promising beginning, he struggled to maintain his place in the powerful lineup and fell out of favour midway through the year. Hall did not return to VFL level after that season, his brief career serving as a testament to the fierce competition for spots in the "Same Olds" dominant team of the early 1900s.
