Bio
A highly touted Next Generation Academy selection taken with pick 8 in the 2018 National Draft, Tarryn Thomas arrived at North Melbourne from North Launceston with the expectation of becoming a midfield centrepiece. Possessing elite evasion, silky skills, and a natural goal sense, he developed into a high-impact midfielder-forward capable of turning matches with moments of brilliance, notably finishing third in the Syd Barker Medal during a breakout 2021 campaign. However, his tenure at Arden Street was ultimately curtailed by significant off-field turbulence rather than a lack of ability. Following a series of disciplinary breaches and an AFL investigation into his behaviour towards women which resulted in an 18-match suspension, North Melbourne severed ties with Thomas in early 2024, leaving the talented utility out of the AFL system.
