Bio
Recruited from the Sandringham Dragons with pick 49 in the 2008 National Draft, Taylor Hunt began his career at Geelong during one of the club's most successful eras. He carved out a niche as a disciplined run-with player, utilising his significant pace and endurance to tag damaging opposition midfielders. Although he played regularly between 2011 and 2013, breaking permanently into the Cats' star-studded midfield rotation proved difficult, and he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2014 season after playing 63 games in the hoops.
Richmond offered Hunt a lifeline as a delisted free agent ahead of the 2015 season, where he transitioned into a role as a rebounding defender. He became a reliable fixture in the Tigers' backline for his first two years at Punt Road, adding speed and defensive pressure to the squad. However, as Richmond surged toward their premiership drought-breaking campaign in 2017, Hunt struggled to hold his spot in the best 22 and did not feature in the finals series. He retired with over 100 AFL games to his name, remembered as a serviceable role player who adapted his game to meet the needs of two major Victorian clubs.
