Bio
Recruited from Tungamah in country Victoria, Ted Bourke was a versatile key position player best known for his strong overhead marking and ability to swing between centre half-back and centre half-forward. He made an immediate impression at Punt Road, kicking three goals on debut and featuring in Richmond's unique 1924 round-robin finals campaign. After three seasons with the Tigers, Bourke crossed to South Melbourne in 1927, but his stint at the Lake Oval was short-lived and yielded just six senior appearances. While his VFL career ended prematurely, he later re-emerged as a star in the VFA, winning the prestigious Recorder Cup with Sandringham in 1929 to cement his standing as a premier footballer of the era.
