Teams

Recruited from Shepparton in the Goulburn Valley, Ted Burns was a country footballer who earned a brief trial with St Kilda late in the 1912 VFL season. Standing 175cm, he joined a Saints lineup that was enjoying a competitive campaign and was selected to debut in the Round 15 clash against Richmond. Burns tasted success in both of his senior appearances—featuring in comfortable victories over the Tigers and University—but was unable to hold his position in the starting eighteen for the remainder of the year. His VFL career concluded after those two matches, with Burns becoming one of the many regional recruits of the era who made a fleeting appearance at the elite level before returning to district football.
