Recruited from the Richmond Brewery football team, Ted Collinson was a mature-age debutant who broke into the VFL just days before his 25th birthday. A smaller-bodied player standing 175cm, he was brought into the senior side early in the 1932 season, playing four consecutive matches between Round 3 and Round 6.
