Bio
A local Richmond junior recruited from Christian Brothers, Ted Cusack followed an indirect path to the VFL, initially cutting his teeth in the Tigers' reserves before heading to the bush to secure back-to-back premierships with Bairnsdale. He returned to Punt Road in 1930 but struggled to break into a strong lineup, managing just two senior appearances before crossing to North Melbourne the following season seeking greater opportunity. Operating as a pacy wingman, Cusack became a regular fixture at Arden Street for three years until a severe shoulder injury forced him to hang up the boots prematurely. Despite his short playing career, he remained a dedicated servant of the Shinboners, later serving as chairman of selectors and even stepping in as caretaker coach for two games during the 1939 season.
