Bio
Recruited from the Leopold Football Club after starring in their 1911 premiership side, Keggin wasted no time making an impact at Punt Road. Standing 188cm, he was a versatile key position player who rotated between the ruck and forward pocket, using his strong marking hands and long kick to top Richmond’s goalkicking table in his debut season. He remained a consistent avenue to goal, finishing runner-up in the club’s goalkicking in both 1913 and 1914, before the Great War curtailed his prime. A Chief Shipwright in the Navy, Keggin served on the HMAS Melbourne and was stationed at Williamstown, duties that forced him to miss the entire 1915 and 1916 seasons. He managed a brief seven-game cameo upon his return in 1917 before eventually moving to Sydney after the war, leaving behind a promising career cut short by service.
