Bio
Recruited from the Leopold Football Club in the Metropolitan Junior Football Association, Ted O'Meara was a country-born forward who earned his opportunity with South Melbourne in the mid-1920s. Although he possessed a slight frame at just 68kg, O'Meara proved to be a dangerous option near the big sticks, boasting an impressive strike rate of better than a goal a game during his brief tenure at the Lakeside Oval. He debuted in 1924 and showed promise as a rotating forward, yet he struggled to cement a regular spot in the senior lineup, managing just six appearances in each of his first two seasons. His VFL career concluded after a solitary game in 1926, and he sadly passed away in 1941 at the young age of 38.
