Bio
Recruited from the local Carlton Juniors, Ted Pollock holds a unique place in Blues history as the club's youngest-ever debutant, running out for his first game at just 16 years and 200 days old in 1930. A solidly built ruckman who used his imposing 95kg frame to win contested ball, Pollock initially found it difficult to command a regular spot in the senior side and spent several seasons drifting in and out of the lineup. He eventually found consistency in the mid-1930s, holding down a spot in the ruck division to play in the club's finals campaigns of 1935 and 1936. Despite this period of established form, his career ended prematurely at just 23 years of age, seeing him depart the league only one season before Carlton's 1938 premiership triumph.
