Bio
Recruited from Brighton Technical School Old Boys, Ted Regan was a defender whose brief VFL career was defined by resilience and ultimate tragedy. After breaking into the Melbourne senior side in 1938, he was let go after just one season and crossed to Essendon, where a severe knee injury wiped out his entire 1940 campaign. He returned to play a remarkable role in the Bombers' 1941 season, earning a shock promotion from the reserves to play his final league match in the Grand Final loss against his former club. His football journey ended when he enlisted in the RAAF, and he was sadly killed in action in 1943 while piloting a bomber over Burma.
