Stats
Bio
Recruited from CBC St Kilda as a talented junior noted for his courage, Ted Schwarzman was a lean utility who operated primarily on the half-forward or half-back flanks. He broke into the powerful Saints lineup as a teenager in 1965, but his career is largely defined by a sliding doors moment during the club's golden era. Despite failing to play a senior match during the 1966 season due to persistent thigh injuries, Schwarzman was highly rated enough by the selectors to be named as an emergency for the Grand Final, leaving him on the agonizing fringe of the club's only premiership victory. He managed five more senior appearances in 1967 before departing the VFL to play with CBC Old Collegians and later Sandringham in the VFA.
